LANCASTER - Cheryl Rose of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corp. wants to let businesses large and small know resources are available to them. "The development corporation provides resources that facilitate working with area developers and site selectors", said Rose, the corporation's Antelope Valley regional manager. Rose goes on to explain that the corporation can "help with Enterprise Zone, workers compensation, hiring and all the things that new businesses will need."

"We're not trying to sell something - we have hundreds of resources and offer services at no cost," Rose said.

The corporation can provide community profiles as well as information on economics, demographics, the labor market, and incentive zones. It also can assist with securing incentives, facilitating the permitting process and work with educational and job training institutions to satisfy current and future labor needs and more.

Rose works hand in hand with the Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance in attracting businesses to the Antelope Valley. The economic alliance finds the business through phone surveys conducted throughout the county and, "When they get here I help them," Rose said.

"She's a great asset, said Mel Layne, president of the Alliance." It's great to have someone with the same goals of keeping businesses in the AV or helping go out and find business that need to relocate or expand."
